Kelly came round last night with his Rotigus and his Nurgle Daemon army to take on my Crimson Slaughter warband. We played withy the open war card pack giving a random set up and game parameters, the game would be decided on who was holding an objective on turn 5 that fell to the board in a random place on turn 3. Nurgle had first turn and pushed up the board with 30 plaguebearers supported by characters and a Daemon Prince, plague riders and plague drones on either flank, the Crimson Slaughter did what they are good at, jumped out of their rhinos' and charged. Khorne berzerkers, possessed, a chaos lord and exalted champion eventually wiped out the plaguebearers in one killing spree, the maulerfiend didn't do as good and the plague riders still stood their ground, he was to pay for that later when they splattered him!. Not all went to plan though, the hellforged siccaran couldn't hit anything despite having 'prescience' cast on him and the rest of the armies shooting was abysmal. The Nurgle fightback was on, charges by the daemon prince and effective shooting saw the forces of the Crimson Slaughter whittling away, then Rotigus and some Deathshroud terminators dropped in to say hello. The Crimson Slaughter fought back by dropping in some obliterators and summoning a pack of bloodletters. The game swung back and forth but the plague drones auto hits were causing havoc, these alone counted for a Heldrake, 20 cultists, 3 obliterators and the Bloodletters. The objective appeared in turn 3 and landed in Kellys deployment zone, right next to two units of Nurglings, Rotigus backed out of combat to solidify the wall of rotting pus around the objective, three plague drones were on hand to block anything getting near and with the Crimson Slaughter on the other side of the battle grid the towel was thrown in, an overwhelming victory to Rotigus and his minions. I'd have taken more photos but got caught up in the action and forgot.
