Well it's been a long time, a couple of years in fact since I last posted but we're still gaming and I'm going to renew my posts. Today's game is The Death Guard versus The Dark Angels, 9th Edition rules. I used Mortarion and the Dark Angels couldn't stop him, that was the gist of the game really, the las cannons just weren't hitting the mark. Pretty easy win in turn three.

Battle 3 Crimson Slaughter Vs Dark Angels
Sealed Orders scenario from Chapter Approved, played across a new board with a bombed out monastery at one end and a trench line at the other. Deployment was opposite corners with a 9" exclusion zone in the middle. Windy set up his helblasters and predators forward on his flank, I set up my fast moving daemon engines in the front with a sorcerer behind and two units of Khorne berzerkers and a unit of possessed in Rhinos. I got first turn and advanced up with the Maulerfiend, Devastator and Soul Grinder, the Maulerfiend got Warptime cast on him and all three managed a first turn charge. The Right of War for my warband is Dark Raiders, they can advance and charge in the same turn. The maulerfiend and two spawn wiped out the Helblaster squad, the Soull Grinder eventually pushed back the tactical squad but was blasted by the las preds and melted back into the warp, the Devastator charged two characters, killed one in combat but died to a Relic blade, the second Character died in the resultant explosion. This was how the battle progressed, the Chaos forces got the charges in and the Dark Angels reacted best they could but were forced further and further back. The objectives were out of their reach and Chaos picked up easy points. The two units of Intercesssors dropped down in the backfield and managed to blow up a rhino with a unit of berzerkers in but that's all, they were wiped out during the Khornate backlash. Points 11-4 after 4 turns, big win for the Crimson Slaughter.
Daemon engines get first turn charges in.
Dark Angels try to back away but are unsuccessful.
Dark Angels hold the centre of the Monastery.
Obliterators teleport in.
Possessed get a charge in against the Primaris marines, supported by a heldrake.
The possessed demolish the Primaris marines.

Battle 2 Crimson Slaughter Vs Nurgle Daemons
Kelly came round last night with his Rotigus and his Nurgle Daemon army to take on my Crimson Slaughter warband. We played withy the open war card pack giving a random set up and game parameters, the game would be decided on who was holding an objective on turn 5 that fell to the board in a random place on turn 3. Nurgle had first turn and pushed up the board with 30 plaguebearers supported by characters and a Daemon Prince, plague riders and plague drones on either flank, the Crimson Slaughter did what they are good at, jumped out of their rhinos' and charged. Khorne berzerkers, possessed, a chaos lord and exalted champion eventually wiped out the plaguebearers in one killing spree, the maulerfiend didn't do as good and the plague riders still stood their ground, he was to pay for that later when they splattered him!. Not all went to plan though, the hellforged siccaran couldn't hit anything despite having 'prescience' cast on him and the rest of the armies shooting was abysmal. The Nurgle fightback was on, charges by the daemon prince and effective shooting saw the forces of the Crimson Slaughter whittling away, then Rotigus and some Deathshroud terminators dropped in to say hello. The Crimson Slaughter fought back by dropping in some obliterators and summoning a pack of bloodletters. The game swung back and forth but the plague drones auto hits were causing havoc, these alone counted for a Heldrake, 20 cultists, 3 obliterators and the Bloodletters. The objective appeared in turn 3 and landed in Kellys deployment zone, right next to two units of Nurglings, Rotigus backed out of combat to solidify the wall of rotting pus around the objective, three plague drones were on hand to block anything getting near and with the Crimson Slaughter on the other side of the battle grid the towel was thrown in, an overwhelming victory to Rotigus and his minions. I'd have taken more photos but got caught up in the action and forgot.
Battle 1 Crimson Slaughter V Dark Angels
We had a warm game in the conservatory on Monday. The Crimson Slaughter again took on the Dark Angels. 2500,points Roving Patrol scenario from Chapter Approved. Each players units enter the table at different times, the Crimson Slaughter had three units on the board at the start, the Dark Angels had 12 after turn 1. The Dark Angels were pushing forward and taking it to the enemy in the first three turns but a concentrated charge by the Possessed and Khorne Berzerkers threw their centre back and turned the game into a narrow Chaos victory.
Introduction
This is a personal blog to record my Warhammer 40K games. I've found I keep forgetting the fun I've had playing different people with a variety of different armies so I'm going to post a short battle report on my games to remember them. First post short and sweet so I can personalise the appearance.
